The design of the curriculum at the Graphic design major at WSTI takes into account the recommendations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and meets the accreditation criteria regarding program requirements for art majors. Artistic objects represent over 70% of the hours of classes and no more than 30% are non-artistic objects.
Emphasis on practical training curriculum is a priority of the GRAPHIC DESIGN major. Lectures are on average no more than 30% of the hours of classes and more than 70% of the time learning are practical classes. The dominance of non-lecture classes for each semester, as well as the organization of the mandatory internship and plein air drawing, promote the artistic development of individual creative abilities.
Plein air drawings
Besides internship, students participate in a mandatory series of complementary artistic education in general art. Plein air drawing organized in the form of creative workshops, intensify the process of acquiring the experience of creative workshops and shaping the creative individuality of students.
Plein air drawing is carried out after the first year of studies (during the summer – between the second and third semester of studies)
Internships
During the studies students take part in mandatory vocational practice, which is organized by the Institute in such companies and institutions, such as graphic design studios, photographic studios, film studios, advertising agencies and studios, marketing departments of large enterprises, promotion departments of local governments, digital printing and offset printing plants, publishing houses, Internet companies, cultural institutions - galleries, cultural centers, etc. During the internship, the student has the opportunity to learn the occupation.
The internship is done after the first, second and third years of study (during the summer between the second and the third semester; between the fourth and the fifth semester; between the sixth and the seventh semester).
